Bamenda City Mayor Paul Achobong Vows to Sue Presidential Candidate Issa Tchiroma

 

Achobong Paul Tambeng, the City Mayor of Bamenda, has made a bold statement during the CPDM Mezam 1A Section campaign rally, promising to sue presidential candidate Issa Tchiroma Bakary following unrest in the city of Bamenda.

 The Mayor's declaration comes as a result of the tragic loss of lives and property in Bamenda, attributed to the ongoing violence in the region.

 

This announcement follows a controversial statement made by Tchiroma Bakary, the presidential candidate of the Cameroon National Salvation Front (CNSF), who referred to Chris Anu, a well-known Ambazonian separatist leader, as his "best friend" during a campaign event in Bamenda's North West Region on the 4th of October 2025.

Mayor Tambeng expressed his outrage, declaring, "A friend to a kidnapper is a kidnapper; a friend to a killer is a killer." His remarks underline the deep frustrations felt by locals regarding the violence and insecurity that have plagued the region.
