Bamenda, August 17, 2025 – Dream Team FC of Bamenda has emerged as the champions of the 2024/2025 North West Regional Football League after a thrilling victory on penalties in the finals held at the University of Bamenda field on Sunday.

With this triumph, Dream Team FC will represent the North West region at this year's national interpools, following a hard-fought win against Options Sports Academy. The final concluded in a tense penalty shootout, where Dream Team clinched the trophy with a score of 5-3.

"I want to seize this opportunity to encourage the region to support Dream Team in our quest for another ticket to the elite two," he stated. "This year has been challenging for our region, and we must appreciate the sacrifices made by team presidents who have sponsored these teams to this level."

In a parallel event, COMAGEND partnered with FECAFOOT to promote girls' educational attainment during the match. Dr. Sally Mboumien, Executive Director of COMAGEND, delivered a powerful message advocating for girls' access to education and their freedom to pursue careers without societal constraints. The initiative inspired attendees to become ambassadors for change, highlighted by the selection of Oris Ambe, the match's standout player, as a brand ambassador for girls' education.

  • Match Highlights

The final was a captivating affair, with defending champions Options Sports Academy controlling much of the game. Although the first half lacked scoring opportunities, Options stepped up their game after the break, keeping Dream Team’s goalkeeper, Ngam Leonard, busy.

Sergeo Marc Akinibom and Oris Ambe Hanye were instrumental for Options, constantly challenging Dream Team’s defense, led by Aminu Iliasu, Acha Aristee, and Boma Roy. A near goal by Akinibom in the 75th minute was disallowed due to an offside call, leaving the match scoreless after 90 minutes.

The game proceeded directly to penalties, where goalkeeper Ngam Leonard proved decisive, saving one penalty and then scoring the match-winning kick. Dream Team FC celebrated their victory as North West champions, preparing for the national interpools set to take place in Yaoundé from September 1 to 14, 2025.
