Mr. Ibrahima Moussa Ballo Installed as Subdivisional Officer for Bamenda II

Mr. Ibrahima Moussa Ballo has been officially installed as the divisional Officer for Bamenda II in the Mezam Division, succeeding the late Mr. Manchang Nicholas Nkongho, who was transferred to Baham. Mr. Ibrahima previously served in Baham subdivision within the Hauts-Plateaux Division West Region.

Born on March 8 in Batouri and hailing from Garoua II sub-Division in the Benoue Division of the North Region, Mr. Ibrahima is a family man, married with three children. Prior to his current appointment, he held the position of Divisional Officer for Baham Sub-Division from October 15, 2021, until July 22, 2025.

During the installation ceremony, Senior Divisional Officer for Mezam, Simon Emile Mooh, emphasized the pressing issues Bamenda II faces, including insecurity. He urged Mr. Ibrahima to intensify efforts to address these challenges, particularly in preparation for the upcoming presidential elections. Emile underlined the importance of supporting the Electoral Board (ELECAM) and maintaining peace within the diverse cosmopolitan community of Bamenda II.

"Your role as the representative of the central authority is crucial," he stated. "You must ensure the safety of residents and their properties, combat criminal activities, and work towards the integrity of the state."

In his address, Mr. Ibrahima expressed his deep gratitude, saying, "I thank God Almighty Allah Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala, and I am grateful to the Head of State for this opportunity. I recognize that Bamenda II is the heart of Bamenda city, and I am aware of the many challenges that await me. I pledge to continue the work of my late colleague and to make concerted efforts to improve security and development for the people of Bamenda II."

The ceremony was marked by a show of solidarity from the Muslim community, along with attendance from the Mayor of Bamenda II, Several Divisional officers and other dignitaries. The S.D.O  Emile Mooh reiterated the significance of social cohesion and the need to combat hate speech and xenophobia, especially in the lead-up to the elections.

As he embarks on this new role, Mr. Ibrahima is expected to foster collaboration among various stakeholders, address land disputes, revitalize public services, and ensure the presence of civil servants in their duties. His commitment to improving the socio-economic landscape of Bamenda II will be vital for restoring normalcy and progress in the region.
