In a significant event , the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator for the North West Region unveiled 3 foundational documents aimed at enhancing governance and public service in the North-West Region.

The briefing, attended by the media , highlighted some achievements and ongoing efforts of the institution since its inception four years ago.

In his opening statement, Public Independent Conciliator Tamfu Simon Fai emphasized the importance of these documents, stating, "We have invited you here today to make you discover and also put at your disposal the foundational documents produced by our institution from scratch in four years of our operation."

The Foundation of Trust and Governance

Established under Law No. 2019/024 on December 24, 2019, the Office of the Public Independent Conciliator plays a vital role in promoting good governance as a key outcome of the Major National Dialogue. The institution's mission includes resolving complaints and fostering trust in regional and local authorities to ensure peace and development.

Tamfu noted, "Given the prevailing security context, we have relied on the media to reach the most remote parts of the region, where many citizens live." He expressed gratitude to the press for their partnership in disseminating information and raising awareness about the office's initiatives.

Presentations of Foundational Documents

Three senior staff members presented summaries of key foundational documents:

1.Complainant's Guide- Presented by Research Officer Dr. Alfred WUKU KUDI, this guide outlines the rights of citizens seeking assistance in resolving complaints.

2. Complaint Treatment Guide- Research Officer Madam Nina AMBUBAN AGINGI discussed the procedures in place for handling complaints effectively.

3.Harmonized Ethical Guide for Regional and Local Authorities- Executive Officer Mr. NGODJI Rais explained how this guide aims to standardize practices across councils in the North-West Region.

These documents address critical issues such as fair treatment in public services and the need for uniform procedures across different councils.

Tamfu highlighted the motivation behind these guides, stating, "The frustrations we experienced with varying administrative practices across councils prompted us to create these documents. We aim to harmonize management and ensure that citizens receive equitable treatment regardless of their location."
